Heartopia Building & Decoration Guide — Blueprints, Co-Build & DIY Furniture Hacks
Advanced Heartopia building tips: blueprint system, co-building safety, custom furniture tricks, wallpaper hacks, aquarium displays, and home plot expansion.
Building and decorating your home is one of Heartopia’s deepest systems. This guide covers advanced techniques — blueprint loadouts, co-building safely, DIY furniture hacks, and wallpaper tricks you won’t find in the tutorial.
Blueprint System (DG Level 8)
Blueprints are essentially save slots for your house. You can save multiple versions of your home and switch between them instantly without tearing anything down.
How Blueprints Work
- Unlocked at DG Level 8 via the smartwatch app
- Each blueprint slot stores a complete copy of your house layout
- Switch between builds freely — nothing is lost
- Blueprint mode gives you unlimited furniture and decor to experiment with
Recommended Blueprint Setup
| Slot | Use |
|---|---|
| Slot 1 | Your main home build |
| Slot 2 | Alternative design (e.g., seasonal theme) |
| Slot 3 | Dedicated testing slot — experiment freely here |
| Slot 4 | Co-Build slot — grant friend permissions only here |
Blueprint Safety Rule
Never give a friend build permissions on your main house slot. Use a dedicated throwaway blueprint slot for co-building so a friend can’t accidentally (or deliberately) wreck your real home.
Co-Building (DG Level 8)
Unlocked alongside Blueprints at DG Level 8. Invite another player to build together in real-time.
How to Co-Build
- Create a dedicated blueprint slot for co-building
- Invite a friend from your Friendship Journal
- Grant build permissions only on that slot
- Both players can place, move, and rotate furniture simultaneously
Co-Build Safety Checklist
- Use a throwaway blueprint slot — never your main
- Only co-build with trusted friends
- Take a screenshot of your build before starting
- You can revoke permissions at any time
Custom Furniture Hacks
Why buy expensive furniture when you can build it from basic materials? These DIY tricks save thousands of Gold.
DIY Shelving
Stack painted floor panels parallel against a wall. Use multiple panels to create multi-tier shelving — perfect for displaying collectibles.
DIY Dining Table
- Shrink two columns to minimum height (table legs)
- Place them where you want the table
- Cover with 3 marble or wood floor panels as the tabletop
DIY Kitchen Island
Build entirely from half walls + floor panels. Much cheaper than buying a kitchen island from Bob’s shop, and fully customizable with your own colors and materials.
DIY Display Pedestals
Place short columns indoors to elevate and showcase decorations, trophies, or rare collectibles. Paint them to match your room.
Wallpaper Tricks
Mix & Match Wallpaper Patterns
You can combine patterns from different wallpapers on the same wall:
- Place a low wall section
- Add two half walls above it
- Paint each section with a different wallpaper
- This lets you use the baseboard from one wallpaper and the pattern from another
Expand Walls Without Repainting
In overhead mode, drag an existing wall or floor tile to expand it — the paint and pattern carry over automatically. No need to manually reapply.
Exterior Materials Indoors
Built-In Aquarium Display
Use square wooden windows to create stunning built-in aquariums:
- Build a low-wall platform where you want the display
- Place aquariums on top of the platform
- Enclose with wall panels
- Frame with wooden square windows on both sides
- The result is a see-through aquarium built into the wall
Builder Tablet Tips
The Builder Tablet (accessed via your smartwatch) is the precision building tool:
- Grid view for pixel-perfect furniture placement
- Retrieve clipped items — furniture stuck inside walls that you can’t click manually
- Rotate and move furniture without picking it up
- Environment Adjustment Tool — preview your build in different lighting, weather, and time of day. Windows change color with lighting, so check before finalizing.
Home Plots Expansion
You start with a small plot and expand as your DG level increases:
| DG Level | Home Plots |
|---|---|
| Start | 1 |
| Level 4 | 4 |
| Level 6 | 5 |
| Level 8 | 6 |
| Level 11 | 7 |
| Level 14 | 8 |
| Level 16 | 9 |
How to Unlock More Plots
- Level up your DG via daily Resident Requests
- Plot expansions are automatic on reaching the required DG level
- Each new plot lets you build additional structures or expand your garden
