Crafting is unlocked early in Heartopia via Bob the handyman. You craft items at a Workbench. This guide covers every recipe, required materials, and crafting strategy.
How to Unlock Crafting
- Meet Bob (tutorial, first 30 minutes)
- He teaches you to craft a Joinery Single Bed
- From then on, use any Workbench in town or craft your own
How to Get a Workbench
You start with access to Bob’s workbench. To place your own:

Important: Always equip the tool you want to repair before using the kit. Using it on the wrong tool wastes the kit.
How to Use Repair Kits
- Equip the broken tool in your hand
- Select Repair Kit from inventory
- Place it on the ground near your character
- A sparkle effect appears — tool is restored. Kit is consumed.

To set up an efficient cooking station at home:

Early Game
- Craft Repair Kits from Branches — never buy them early when branches are free
- Craft Bait from Apples — speeds up fishing income
- Craft Fertilizer once you have Weeds built up
Mid Game
- Build a Workbench at home — saves trips to Bob’s
- Set up a 4-stove kitchen — batch cooking is your gold engine
- Craft windows, doors, and fences as you unlock blueprints
Late Game
- Crafty Repair Kits using Roaming Oak Timber — full repair + buff
- Premium furniture for home evaluation score (needed for Beaver Build Challenge)
- Complete furniture sets for bonuses
